I bet theyd take 369k Walk to beach....dead end/great house/ schools /neighborhood etc.

In my book a shoreline town will almost always trump a mid island town.

But IMHO of the three.
W Babylon ( some of those home are in Babylon Schools....W Bab are ok too)

crooks

North Shore vs South Shore vs Mid Island

As a Babylon resident with kids in W Babylon schools I encourage you to check out W Bab. Great people, atmosphere, schools, beaches. Great place to raise a family.

It is not a boutique town with boutique schools, just a solid, safe, family oriented place to raise a family.

All 3 have similar demographics, W. Bab schools are slightly higher rated than Middle Country. West Babylon is right next to Babylon, which is a really great old school downtown area. Those 2 things give the edge to W. Babylon, although the area itself looks a bit ragged and they have an issue at the schools with many kids from Wyandanch listing fake addresses to go there.

Food for thought...my neighbor teaches at W. Babylon and has nothing but positive things to say about it!

Lindenhurst is a neat little town too. When I was house hunting this summer I heard a few negative comments about the schools that crossed it off of my list.

In hindsight, going to the neat renovated beach park Venetian Shores and meeting many residents, not too shabbly and priced right.

If the Lindenhurst/W Bab strip of 27A got a spit shine I think it would do worlds for the towns image.

Therein lies the issue with good old Lindy, land of Pat Benetar.

Some people view it as "transitional"

okay Thanks.... Look like i have my work cut out for me!! Are there certain areas in West Babylon that are nicer than others b/c I know a few months ago when my hubby and I looked out there we were riding around the number streets and they looked shabby so I know what you mean but I know teachers in both West Babylon and Middle Country Schools and neither one of them has a complaint... As a teacher I also know most of the time you get out of the schools what you put into it as weel I like the idea of W. babylon b/c it is a closer commute to work. Otherwise I would check out areas like Rocky point.
