Default Anyone familiar with Mastic South Manor?

Looked at a house in the South Manor area of Mastic, good price, but is it a good area?

That might be one for the list: the Unshirleys or the Floyd Harbors

All I can say is if its in Longwood you'll have better resale value.

Have you checked out Ridge or up North to Sound Beach.

Longwood has a better resale value than Eastport/South Manor schools?

As for the OP, that area is a nice middle class neighborhood. My parents have lived there for years. Which house did you look at?

Unless the house is a gift, there are much better value plays in Brookhaven.(Ridge,Sound Beach,Wading River,Rocky Point even Patchogue all come to mind)

If youre dead set on it, make sure youre not in Wm Floyd Schools and be prepared to be there for a long long time. There are many who wont touch that area due to its stigma (and history) at any cost.

DO NOT buy the house of Campbell! It is right across from the airport and you have Moriches Middle Island Rd. as your backyard, horrible buy IMO. It doesn't matter if it is brand new inside, that location is horrible. You are the only house on that street and people fly down that road.

Here are a couple at around the same price, but better locations.

You don't think Mastic with Eastport/South Manor schools is a good value? The most expensive house in the neighborhood is listed at 364. There are several for under 300k.

That area of Mastic is nothing like Mastic Beach.

Yeah I agree. Thats the nicest part of Mastic. Correct me if Im wrong but that area is called "Old Mastic". And South Manor schools are also fed with Manorville. Not sure on the location but the area is not that bad. And from what I hear the schools are good.
Wouldnt it be safe to say that South Manor schools are more reputable than William Floyd & Longwood?

Like I said

As long as its not Wm Floyd its ok.

But there are folks out there that wont touch the Mastics at all.
