Default Insulation

Hi,

Looking for a company that does blown-in insulation from the exterior. Anyone have this done? Any recommendations?

Thanks

If your house wasn't "built right", in the first place, ALL the insulation in the world won't help it. Important, is looking at your roof, especially now, during the snow.

I, personally, like traditional insulation, because I don't want to be "smelling" it.

Isn't there a residual "smell" or something with this blown-in insulation ?

It has nothing to do with being built right. It is probably a older home and doesnt have insulation. Getting back to the OP....yes, there are companies that do this. One of our salesman had this done 3 years ago and it turned out great.
The only down side is that they have to put holes in the side of the home to blow the insulation in between the studs. BTW he saved a 1/3 on the heating bill!! The insulation has paid itself in 2 winters.
I will get you the name and number when he comes in this week.

Is there some kind of rebate you can get, maybe from your insurance company for doing this insulation improvement, to your
home ?

xbure9x is on a distinguished road
I would also be interested in any names I could get for people who do this type of work, I was just discussing this the other day with the wife....

does anyone have a ballpark figure of how much this would cost? Also, if the cost were prohibitive, is it possible to just do part of the house, say the bedroom areas at least?

I want to say it was around $8000 for a 2300 sq. ft. house. I will confirm and get the number this week.
