Default Williston Park/Lynbrook/RVC

We have been narrowing down our search for a while. Our criteria have changed slightly - due to the economy. We are looking for a comfortable home at 500k or less. Important must-have's...good commute to NYC, good schools, good/walkable town. Out of these 3: Williston Park, Lynbrook, RVC, which would you recommend and why? Thank you

not sure about Williston Park, but 500k will likely not get you very far in RVC, unless you're willing to consider RVC without RVC schools. You may have more luck in Lynbrook.

stay with lynbrook...500K in RVC wont buy you too much if anything at all. A decent house in the RVC school district is about 699K and same for Williston Park if not more expensive. Lynbrook has excellent schools, great downtown area, tons of kids, well kept homes, it is an excellent place to live!

I grew up in Lynbrook and I am sure now with how the market is doing you would have no problem finding a home in lynbrook with lynbrook schools for around $500k or even less.

Also look in east rockaway with lynbrook schools

Rockville center with oceanside schools

Oceanside with oceanside schools

You may be able to find a home in rockville center with rockville center schools for mid $500's.

RVC is on the Babylon branch of the LIRR, like Lynbrook. Both are an easy commute to the city. You can still find a house in RVC around $500K.
