LOL.
Betamax was actually a far superior format to VHS...my wife has old betamax tapes from her parents camera when she was a kid...they are as good or better than digital.
8 track was just silly.

I agree that the layout of the mall is horrible. I was there 2 weeks ago and actually had to drive to get to a store I wanted to go to.
I did however get deals at Saks/Neimans/BCBG/Cosmetic Company Outlet. Only certain outlet stores offer good deals and that's across the board. I'll probably just hit the Westbury outlets that have Saks/Nordstrom Rack though, it's easier to navigate. The Deer Park outlet will be nicer in the summer. It's certainly easier for me than driving to Riverhead like I used to.
The stores are all exactly the same as Riverhead, with the exact same "Deals". I don't know why you'd say they weren't - they're the exact same "outlets". Some are truly outlet stores, some are not. You'll get the exact same stuff you'd have gotten by driving to Riverhead. They're owned and managed by the same company

I have 2 daughters that work in the Riverhead Tanger outlets and the one works at Deer Park when they need her too since we use to live in Deer Park she is the only who will do the drive. There is only a hand full of true "outlets" at the Tanger outlets in Riverhead and I am sure DP is the same! I don't mind since the Riverhead outlets are like an outdoor mall for us and a lot closer then Smith Haven mall. Some outlet store will get other store clearence items and the makes the store an outlet store even tho most stuff are regularly priced. Some stores in Riverhead like Juicy or Uggs are true outlets and Skechers always has a buy 1 get 1 policy that makes it an "outlet" store. etc. I've only been to the DP one once myself but since it is a Tanger just like Riverhead, I am sure it pretty much is the same thing!

It is just that it is so cold up at those outlets in Deer Park ; the layout acts sort of like a wind tunnel. There is no place to get out of the cold and just sit and relax as there are in the malls. Maybe in the summer, it will be a place to go , but not during the winter.

That's the other thing I noticed, it was dark in there, even on a bright sunny day, Riverhead is much brighter.
Sorry but I dont like The Arches at all and won't be going back, it's Riverhead for me.

I found some great deals at the arches and it was more aesthetically pleasing than Riverhead. I was disappointed in the size. If I want to plan a trip to the outlets for major shopping, I'll go to Riverhead for the bigger selection of stores. The arches is great for some good deals, but at a limited amount of stores.
