I don't see anything on MLS that gives me this information. Can someone point out how can we get this information without asking the seller or the sellers agent ?
On Realtor website the add on date/posting date is toward the bottom of the page under Listing Information. Not sure if all other websites will list the same info. though.
This is not information that MLS makes publicly available. You need to ask your agent. BTW - a seller's agent is not allowed to share this information without the permission of the seller. If you are using a Buyer's Agent he should readily disclose it to you.
Aha, so that is a good incentive to sign up with a buyers agent.
Tell me something guys... if you were in the market to buy a house... "Would you surely sign up with a Buyers agent ?" Personally, I'm in two minds right now. I mean I think I can stay on top of the available houses in my price range and contact the sellers agents directly, but can anyone point me to a link/thread/discussion where this topic has been discussed OR.... can you give me your 2 cents on the pros and cons for signing up with a buyers agent ?
You can check Zillow.com . Shows how many days on the market. However if someone takes their house off the market & then puts it back on the original list date is not included so you can't always be sure that the date is correct.
I look at two things. Look at the background of the picture. If the background shows snow on the ground or trees have no leaves etc and it's summer that's one clue.
Secondly, most listings are numbered. Read thru a bunch of listings and mentally record the numbers. It"s pretty easy to figure out the newer numbers; then compare that to the listing you may be interested in.
I have purchased 5 homes and have always used a buyers agent. I find them to be an invaluable assist and I guess correlates to an atty representing himself has a fool for a client.
