Default Jones beach pic in hdr

these were shot in high dynamic range using multiple shots with different exposures and then combined and given an artsey kind of look.

Very nice pictures. Brings back memories of when I was a teenager. We used to try to get there before 7 am to beat the toll.

I'm looking into doing some HDR as well. The low sun angle can make it difficult not to wash out the sky in dense piney woods.

They look great. I know nothing about photography - Tell us more about how you took the photos - What does High Dynamic Range mean?

digital cameras have very limited range with which to capture a range of very bright to very dark and will usually make white or turquoise skys or if the skys are good then the dark stuff in the picture is usually toooo dark...

by shooting 3 exposures, 1 in the middle and 1 brighter and 1 darker i then merge all 3 and take that extended range picture and now pinch it so to speak in various places to fit inside the range we can print and display on our monitors and depending how and where i do the pinching by using photomatix software i can get all kinds of different looks to the photo .

i can range from very subtle to almost cartoon
