Check out Shoreham on the north side of 25A. It is a great school district. Catholic Church is nearby. Most of the neighborhoods have private beaches which are never crowded. In today's market, you could get a nice house here for that. Look in Soundview Acres - there are a ton of families with young kids. The neighborhood association has parades and overnighters on the beach for the kids. The private beach is beautiful and within walking distance. Tanger mall and all other stores in Riverhead (Home Depot, TJ Max, Home Goods, Target, Kmart, Walmart) are less than a 15 minute drive. There are 2 supermarkets near by. And 5000 acres of woods in nearby Rocky Point with walking and bike trails. It is a perfect place to raise a family.

Default For those who may not be familiar with East Shoreham

BonnieandMoose, that would be the Hamlet of East Shoreham, not the Village of Shoreham, right?; and, I'm guessing, BonnieandMoose, that you may have a property for sale in the Hamlet of East Shoreham?

For those who may not be familiar with East Shoreham:

East Shoreham is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the northeast part of the Town of Brookhaven, in the north-central part of Suffolk County, along the Brookhaven/Riverhead town line.

Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of East Shoreham in the Town of Brookhaven is bordered on the north by Long Island Sound; on the east by the Hamlet of Wading River in the Town of Riverhead (the Brookhaven/Riverhead town line); on the south by the Hamlet of Ridge; and, on the west by the Hamlet of Rocky Point and the Village of Shoreham.

East Shoreham is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet's name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of East Shoreham have a "Shoreham, NY 11786", "Ridge, NY 11961" and "Wading River 11792" mailing address.

For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): Excellent Long Island Geographic Resource

Any word on the Nuclear Power Plant?

The community is supposed to be looking at options for the property.

Ive heard everything from Catering Halls to Casinos to a Ferry.
What are you hearing over there? Whatever goes in will have an impact on the whole area.

Best

Long Beach. Enough said. You have an amazing beach down the block and there is a Trader Joes in Oceanside about 5 minutes away.

I think that it is terrible and closed minded that you would just want to be part of white american and exclude every other culuture that is out there. If you have to the money I sugguest that you have an island built for yourself and clan members.
