Im a salesman on long island. I did outside sales and home improvement sales. However I just moved back to the island from Vegas What is a good field to be in or a good sales job that be lucrative enough to support a family on Long Island. It could be salary plus commision. Or just commision as long as money is steady enough? I sold home improvement and b2b advertising in the past. Im just wondering if there is some industry that is needed and respected and wont go out of style.

Thanks Peter

Do you need burglar bars on all your doors and windows where you live now?

You will need them in Vegas. Every middle class home has them.

Is that what they're for? I thought it was some fashion trend on the west coast

Medical devices and pharmaceuticals but you might need at least a Bachelors in Science (in Biology or Chemistry).

If you don't have this educational background, ask yourself what you know the most about. Any subject or area that YOU are an "expert" in will yield better results for YOU, as an individual salesperson -- look at your own experience/education/expertise first to find the best possible financial results for you. Think about where you grew up, the kind of people you socialize with, your educational achievements (Master's degree in any particular field?), your work experience to-date (lots of people in pharmaceutical sales are Ph.D. dropouts).

Good luck to you.
