I honestly think the only places I could be happy is NYC, Long Island, New Jersey, Denver, and SoCal. But lets see, I'm heading up to Albany for college.
I got both my degrees from Albany...and I think 3/4 of both classes were from LI. Its not a bad place to spend a few years.

Thanks. I'm mad excited for Ualbany. Yep. I know like more than half of the student population is from Long Island for all the SUNY's. It's incredible.

Actually, for truth in advertising, she told me she goes to Montreal regularly for the big-city entertainment and singles-scene. She really want to eventually settle down in Montreal but can't get a green card to work. Syracuse is a very nice consolation prize.

I thought Montreal and Syracuse where pretty far apart. I would imagine Toronto being closer. I love Montreal from what I've seen in pictures.

I think it's the French influence. She says Toronto is just like a big US city with less crime but Montreal is like going to continental europe for a vacation, maybe a little further than Toronto but closer than Paris! :-)

If you look it up, it went in the statistics as a cloudy day since the first half was cloudy and there were high thin clouds during the sunny afternoon.

The key with Syracuse and other rust belt cities is to stay out of the depressing run-down parts of town as often as you can. If you live in a nice attractive suburb outside Syracuse and work in a nice suburb outside Syracuse, the cloudy weather is more bearable. For example, Montreal is cloudier than Syracuse but you never hear much complaining from Canadians about it. The main reason is that the beautiful built environment surrounding the people who live in Montreal distract you from the cloudy weather and lift up your spirits. So my advise if you move to the Syracuse area is this. Find the most aesthetically pleasing suburb that suits you and keep your trips to the run-down neighborhoods in the city to a minimum.
