D and W and T Sections in Wantagh
Can anyone tell me about these sections in Wantagh ? Seems the homes are affordable ,is this because they are Levitt homes? Does anyone know how Lee Ave school is? I appreciate any and all feedback on these areas in North Wantagh. Is one better then the other? etc ...

North wantagh is an excellent area. I am not sure which elementary school the children go to but I do know the middle school is Jonas Salk, and the High schools is Mac Arthur. They are both great schools.

They're all pretty much the same. I grew up in the D-section and lived most of my life there until fairly recently, I still live nearby. D-section goes to Lee Road Elementary, W-section goes to Gardiner's Avenue and the T-section goes to East Broadway. I went to Lee Road, it was great back then (which was obviously a very long time ago!) but I understand it's still very similar. It's a tiny little school, sometimes there is only one class per grade. After that, like budsvtec said, it's Salk and MacArthur which are both excellent.
I would go with whichever house you like the best, all three neighborhoods are basically identical. Prices are on par with Levittown because aside from the ZIP code it might as well be Levittown, there's really no difference. Great place to live, it's cheap, schools are excellent, it's convenient to the parkways and most of my neighbors were always great. It's pretty middle class....I know a lot of young families with kids have recently moved in near my parents' home.

For those who may not be familiar with North Wantagh
AMD411, please bear in mind, that, despite being in the same ZIP Code postal zone, the Hamlet of Wantagh and the Hamlet of North Wantagh are two separate communities and that places in the Hamlet of North Wantagh have a "Wantagh, NY 11793" and "Seaford, NY 11783" mailing address.
http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...you-think.html may help you understand the great geographic confusions caused by non-conforming ZIP Code postal zones.
For those who may not be familiar with North Wantagh:
North Wantagh is a hamlet (an unincorporated area) in the east section of the Town of Hempstead, in the southeast part of Nassau County, along the Hempstead/Oyster Bay town line.
Beginning on the north and moving in a clockwise direction, the Hamlet of North Wantagh in the Town of Hempstead is bordered on the north by the Hamlet of Levittown; on the east by the Hamlet of North Massapequa in the Town of Oyster Bay (the Hempstead/Oyster Bay town line); on the south by the Hamlet of Seaford and the Hamlet of Wantagh; and, on the west by the Hamlet of North Bellmore.
North Wantagh is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the hamlet name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of North Wantagh have a "Wantagh, NY 11793" and "Seaford, NY 11783" mailing address.
For a good set of town-by-town maps showing all the villages and hamlets in each of LI's 13 towns (3 in Nassau County and 10 in Suffolk County): http://www.city-data.com/forum/long-...-resource.html

D,W,T sections.....
Hi- there are 12 homes available in the W section, 11 in the D section and 2 in the T section. Yes, they are Levitt style homes in the Levittown school district. My one son is in Wisdom Middle and my other in Summit Lane Elementary, so I know the school district well. Lee Avenue is excellent. Frankly, all of the Levittown (SD#5) schools are very good.

Its the one area of Nassau that hasn't changed much, wish I never left either, but sadly it was out of my control and a very long story I will not share here.

North Wantagh has changed considerably in the time I've lived here. Thankfully it's changed for the best in most respects. Honestly, there are other places on the island I'd much rather live - but I got a real sweet deal on one of the few apartments here. However, if you've got a family and want to live in this type of suburban neighborhood there are seriously very few other places that top North Wantagh!!
