Why would anyone use a "national or world", "news", online, periodical, as a reputable source of information, for something, that pertains to one's, immediate locality...like the county they live in ?

^^ Hmm. What else is there to go by? I was really in search of a list that compared apples to apples within the whole USA. But being that not all states give the same test its not feasible. I guess the next closest thing would be to compare SAT test scores.

SATs aren't a great measure either since not everyone takes them and no matter what ETS tells you, you can prep and raise scores. Again not a good measure of the district, only of the student population in that district.

What we need (if we want to compare accurately) is a national exam system the way European countries do, but that's never going to happen. You need tests that are the same and which everyone takes. It's still imperfect (I could write pages on how to manipulate your ranking) but at least you'd have something remotely fair.
