I would agree and for a budget of $700,000 you could do well for yourself in RVC. the houses are also holding their value there more than other neighborhoods. You really need to visit.

I understand you are frustrated with Crooks but he at least admitted his mistake (after a ton of convincing LOL), but give the guy a break! Nobody is perfect!

Okay, okay. I promised him I would "finish it" last night if he kept up his insults.
The thing with him is he has previously "admitted his mistake" on this topic multiple times and then waits awhile and merrily starts it all up again, like he did on this thread. That is his typical modus operandi.
My grandparents used to have a summer home in Rocky Point when I was a kid and I spent many happy times there going to the beach, picking wild blueberries in the woods, etc.
It is an okay place, but basically a humble working class/lower middle class area where now there are people living year round in the old summer cottages that people like my grandparents bought brand new for seasonal use only. Where's the snob appeal in that? If I lived there full time, I certainly would not be turning up my nose at other communities on LI and posting libelous statements degrading them.

That is basically the crux of the matter for many people. It's not even a large number of the typically hated minorities either. We are multicultural and have a large number of the "tolerated" minorities like Asians here too.
There are the "bad news seekers" about Valley Stream who are thrilled to trumpet anything in Newsday that has to do with a minority (like the delight one poster took in reporting a baby's beating at the hands of her black parents in what she termed as "The Winners in Valley Stream" as an example of her constant theme of "There Goes The Neighborhood!"), yet there were no posts from the newshounds about Valley Stream's latest "criminal" to hit the news, the attorney who owned and illegally retrofitted a building in Lawrence to hold more occupants so he could get more rent (including removing a fire escape), which resulted in the fire deaths of a mother and two children. I think he's pretty heinous, but since he is white he gets a pass on being trumpeted as a "there goes the neighborhood" criminal.

Well speak of the devil and she shall appear! Aren't you happily in Huntington yet? I hope you enjoy driving down lovely New York Avenue on the way to the village proper. I agree, Valley Stream has no scenery and atmosphere like that and you are fortunate to get out of your dad's home here while you still can.
YES, it is a lot of nonsense and much, much cooler heads than mine (like seanx4) agree.
You didn't post all "your experiences" ... you also made references to "BAD BAD secrets you know about Valley Stream" that you "swore not to tell" etc. etc. Oh the drama!
Sorry the news has been slow here for minority criminals. No beaten up black babies to report with glee in a "there goes the neighborhood" tirade. Just a white guy that caused 3 people to get killed in a fire.

I thought you kept your eyes peeled for crime in VS at all times! You are slipping or perhaps you just look for certain ethnicities and colors to take note of. It has constantly been reported that he is a "Manhattan attorney who lives in Valley Stream."

I am sorry to disappoint you, but i have been busy packing for my move and doing mortgage stuff. Once again, I am not a racist, I am just saddened by the things that I have witnessed in my hometown. if that offends you that is not my problem. You need to let it go. Also, what makes you assume that I live with my dad? And you really don't know where it is that I am moving. I wish it were nonsense BTW.

well, this crime didn't occur IN Valley Stream, lol. Tracking the crimes of VS residents once they leave home is too much to ask for anyone! (j/k)
Anyway, the Valley Stream arguments are always amusing...even more so when they take place on the same day a home invasion occurs.

Anybody who reads your posts knows that you are a middle aged and single female, you work for the LIRR, you moved back home from a ghetto area to live with your dad to save to buy a house, that a program for the disadvantaged is assisting you in buying said house, and that you are buying said house in Huntington. Transparent much? And yes, you are a racist. (Or at least your posts appear that way no matter how much you deny it.)
