We currently live in the Babylon area and are looking to move to a bigger home a little further east but no further than say Holbrook.

A good school district is important.

Need taxes less than $9,000 per year and looking at houses under $400,000.

What areas would you suggest to start looking at.

I would love Commack but the taxes are way too high for us even if we could afford the house.

Thanks!

What is a "bigger home"? Do you have any areas (within your stated perimeter) where you DON'T want to be?

In your opinion, what determines "a good school district"? That can be a very subjective interpretation.
