Yeah you might want to come out a bit further. Babylon (and Farmingdale village) looks like a classic small town. Babylon is also close to the Robert Moses causeway, which brings you down to the Babylon town beaches as well as several state parks on the ocean. But I would say alot depends on where you will be working and whether adding an extra 10 to 20 minutes to your commute is worth it.

I dont think its even that bad.

Id bet the Babylon Express is as fast as Farmingdale to NYC.

Bayblon would have the edge for me.

I would say Wantagh is the best choice. By the train station there are bars, the post office, the library and restaurants.
wantagh and seaford also has heavy drugs. not too long ago did a girl overdose from drugs and died from seaford, no? drugs are all over.

youre right. I went there and I made it up. just take a look at how many successful people went to massapequa schools and compare them to other towns and let me know your conclusions.

my father spent years finding the right town to raise his family. it came between merrick and massapequa. he chose pequa.

I suggest you ask around about how great massapequa school district is.

Farmingdale is about 5-10 minutes quicker. I think you're more likely to get a seat at Babylon because it's the first stop on many trains--Farmingdale trains originate at Ronkonkoma.

I would say that your distance from the station is a bigger factor than the extra few minutes on the train. If you can snag something within walking distance, you've got it made. Driving and parking really add on to your commute time.

Where in the Wantagh area were you looking? Portions of the area (North Wantagh) is in the Levittown School district, which has the highest school taxes on Long Island.
