wantagh and seaford also has heavy drugs. not too long ago did a girl overdose from drugs and died from seaford, no? drugs are all over.
I think it was Plainedge, and drugs are just as big in Massapequa.
I love the arguments for Massapequa being the best possible place to live, they basically boil down to: "Jerry Seinfeld is from here" and "my father thought it was better than Merrick 40 years ago, how could he be wrong?!"
Massapequa is good, schools are very good - overcrowded though....and Growin Up GOTTI. Didn't the OP say he/she didn't have children and wasn't that concerned about schools anyway?
youre right. I went there and I made it up. just take a look at how many successful people went to massapequa schools and compare them to other towns and let me know your conclusions.
my father spent years finding the right town to raise his family. it came between merrick and massapequa. he chose pequa.
I suggest you ask around about how great massapequa school district is.

I really don't mean to criticize, Massapequa actually is a great town, and the schools are, without question, very good. I think it's an incredibly safe area and a great place to visit or live. However there is no denying the fact that there is a drug problem. True, there are drug problems all over, but Massapequa clearly has a greater drug issue than it's neighboring communities. Recently, NCPD ran a targeted operation and made 100 arrests for heroin possesion and/or sale throughout the county. Massapequa was the top area for these arrests, edging out Hempstead.

Also, the poor girl, mentioned earlier in the thread, who died from the heroin OD was a N. Massapequa resident.
Does this mean that Massapequa is bad, no. Cause for concern, I would think so
Thank You. Also, I know this because BOTH of my cousins went to rehab, along with half of their grade.

The girl in Seaford died of alcohol poisoning not a drug overdose.

only gotti jr lived in pequa, around the corner from buttafucco. victoria lives on the northshore.
Massapequa is still great. I have a few more stories but It may get racist if I start telling them!

I can tell you massapequa is not alone with the drug problems. most of the white communities on the south shore have them. just because you have more money than say a lindenhurst resident, doesnt mean you will do drugs. its more of what kind of drug can one afford. I went to catholic school in seaford and all the kids that lived in seaford smoked weed. fact. I didnt. fact.

Drugs are a problem everywhere on Long Island. Teenage kids get bored, alcohol and weed are easy to buy. Thus every weekend you can guarantee there's a keg party somewhere in your town.
