Kiss Everyone! We are all Irish...
...on St. Paddy's Day.
In celebration of my irish american heritage (something my italian wife can still not get over) I thought it would be great to list any local parades, events, restaurants/pubs, performances, etc that might be going on in everyone's neck of the woods. This weekend or on St. Patrick's day.
I know the parade list on Newsday, etc, and will try and pop by the St. James Parade at 1pm in my neck of the woods, but what other local recommendations are out there? On Tuesday (after work...unfortunately) I'll probably pop over to Napper Tandy's in Smithtown for a crowded pint of guiness, some decent pub grub, and bring my daughter to watch the local children's irish step group perform and pass the hat for their annual trip to Ireland. It's great, casual fun. Any other local suggestions or bands performing...?
SLAINTE!

Tomorrow is the St James St Pat's parade.
I'll be with an antique car club, one of my children will be with her Step dancing school.
Sunday is the Ronkonkoma parade, never been to that one.
Rocky Point's parade is an excellent time -- expecially if your friends stake out a good spot on route. We usually tail gate.

I have a little dancer in the family as well, and want to make sure she gets a chance to see the irish step dancing. Hofstra is running a festival of sorts as well.

I'm anti-social so I don't go to parades often, but I throw one helluva St. Paddy's day bash every year at home.
In my family, I think St. Paddy's is a close tie with Christmas.
