Default Best way to learn SD boundaries?

We're looking at an area that seems to have a few overlapping -- and strangely so (skipping towns) -- school districts, and some with no high schools of their own (Hampton Bays through Westhampton / WHB). I'm aware that, generally speaking, some kids from such-and-such place go to one or the other of the lower, middle or high schools, but I'd like to see a big map of the whole area.

Do I call each school and ask for their bus routes? This is a lot of schools, all grades taken into consideration. Also, since some outside hamlets (i.e. East Moriches, Flanders) send some kids to some of these schools I'd like to see an overview of where the kids come from to go to each school at each grade level.

How do I best find this information?

I think this is the link that was posted a few weeks ago...

American FactFinder

You can put in your address and it zooms to a map with school district boundaries in blue. Seems accurate...

This gave me only the school district name not the precise elementary, middle, and high schools. I'd also like a sort of map view of the area we're looking at. The schools seem to overlap in such an odd way, and I want to get a feel for the student body in each school.

If there was a thread on this topic a few weeks ago, I'm sorry. Is there a handy link to it?

The Hagstrom atlases show district boundaries, though you'd then have to look up each district individually to find out what grade they go up to and what HS they feed to.

Call the school district or obtain a copy of the tax bill.
