I would say 23.5' east of the Billy Floyd begins the eastern portion of Suffolk.
That is measuring from just inside the shoulder of the road. Maybe I'm just being too technical.

well the commuters of central LI obviously can't stop...they're all trying to catch up on all the sleep they lose due to their lousy commutes, lol.
Regardless, it's pretty clear there's more people from your neck of the woods coming to western suffolk/nassau for certain activities (shopping, concerts, restaurants) than vice versa.

I'm thinking closer to the wm. floyd parkway would be considered east.
Shoreham and everything east on the North Shore
Ridge and everything east in the middle of the island
Bellport and everything east on the South Shore
Part of Rocky Point is directly north of Middle Island (aka middle of the island)...
Though when I was a kid living in Wading River, my family (who all lived in Huntington township) thought Wading River was the beginning of eastern long island (and they use to call it the boonies). But Shoreham is geographically east of the middle...
But then you have the hamptonites who'd probably say the hamptons are only considered "out east" on the south shore. And hard cores on the north shore might say baiting hollow, or even past riverhead (town escapes me right now)...

I'd say 101 until it ends at Mill Road and Middle Island-Yaphank Road , then the boundary would follow CR 21 (Rocky Point Road/Middle Island-Yaphank Road) all the way up past 25A.
So basically a line going northeast from:
- East Patchogue/Bellport
- Medford eastern border
- Yaphank
- Middle Island
- Rocky Point

No...no theyre not, and dont kid yourself.
In fact most of the folks who've moved out here over the last few years are from Nassau and Western Suffolk.
With the exception of the All American burger and the rare Islander game we avoid Nassau at all costs.
We dont shop, dine or go to concerts there. Theres no reason to.
We can do that here or on occasion we go NYC.
You haven't ben out of the Nassau bubble in a while..have you?

Yup, thats what I said. The Phone company actually has an Eastern/Western Suffolk county border that runs along Hallock Landing Road in Rocky Point.

Now that Fortunoff has closed my mom will probably have no reason to go to Nassau again.

Well, I guess it depends on how many feet I go which side I'm on!
My brain just can't process RP, Miller Place, Mt. Sinai, Setauket & even PJ being western suffolk. I always defined it as mid suffolk for some reason. I guess because I have lived as far out as Lindenhurst, and to me that is a whole different world.
ETA: If you google Mid Suffolk Long Island, you'll come up with Mid Suffolk Pediatrics - Islandia/Mt. Sinai
Mid Suffolk Neurology - Smithtown
And Western Suffolk Long island maps you'll get a business as far east as Miller Place.
