im shocked no one has mentioned the "ALL WEATHER DRIVE IN" in copague on sunrise highway. I saw star wars there in 77. a home depot, target, red lobster, and a few assorted stores now occupy that land. it was huge. you can even see the houses today along the street with second story front porches where the residents could watch free movies from the comfort of thier homes.

how about the zoo in massapequa? I wasnt born but I heard stories from my teachers about it. it was where toys r us and mcdonalds is. they told me a story once that the monkeys escaped and it was a big mess.

little know fact: the owner sued the producers of "fast times at ridgemont high" for using thier name in the movie. they settled out of court for an undisclosed sum of money.
