Up until about a year ago I would have said the Christmas Tree Store. My wife used to drive 3 hours to go to the one in Conneticut, but now there is a brand new one in Deer Park.
So, my new place is Wegmans. If you've been you'll know what I'm talking about, if you haven't then what are you doing reading this post? Get Going.

I haven't been to one (I almost never travel outside of LI), but I have heard of them. They would SMOKE the competition on Long Island. None of the supermarkets here are as expansive and ridiculous as Wegmans.

It's weird because it's not like a supermarket but an experience and prices and employees are much better.

Speaking of supermarkets...and I may have dreamt this...but I think I remember some small supermarket on Long Island that had two cows sticking out of barn doors...I just remember these cows...I think the name was Elmer & something(?) and I think there was one in West Islip (on Higbie Lane)...and another in East Northport. But this may just all exist in my imagination...because it's so vague.

Whatever happened to the Stew Leonard's that was going to open on Route 110 in Farmingdale? That would have been great. I do think, though that the airport may have blocked it which doesn't sem fair to me. If I got to vote (which I didn't) I'd rather have that supermarket than an airport that neither I nor anyone , outside of a few millionaires who own their own planes have ever once used .
