how about the zoo in massapequa? I wasnt born but I heard stories from my teachers about it. it was where toys r us and mcdonalds is. they told me a story once that the monkeys escaped and it was a big mess.

All drive ins seem to be gone now.

Yeah, the Dutch were pretty laxed on their tax levels.

Long Island taxes were never "low," but they were not out of hand like they are now.

It's not so much that our taxes are high (other than property taxes are ridiculous), it's more that we are taxed on everything at every level.

A great example is gas in NY vs gas in NJ

New Jersey gas is usually thirty cents cheaper and they, by law, have to have someone there to pump your gas.

On Long Island my gas is thirty cents more and goodluck finding an attendant to come pump your gas when it's raining, cold, or your at a "brand name" gas station.

In all states I believe, they have a gas tax and some are much higher then others.Obviously transporting the gas also does add to the going rate as well and supply and demand for the area.

You would figure by now considering the demand that either the Jets or Giants would have moved here.Maybe somewhere in Nassau would be the most appropriate.

Maybe they should have built a stadium on the roosevelt raceway property, although access would have been brutal. Belmont is another location I've heard people discuss in the past.
