Also, some portions of West Babylon go to North Babylon School. My husband and I went to look at house in West Babylon one time, North of the Southern State and didn't realize what kind of an area it was over there and the school district was N. Babylon. N. Babylon elementary is good but HS is VERY BAD.

Becareful with W. Babylon...some areas of it turn quickly at the border of West Babylon/Wyandanch border. The map does not really mean anything. Drive around the area and see for yourself.

We don't have kids - we are getting a good deal 100,000 and change for this grand 5 beds 2 bathrooms house on .55 acres. If we do go through this transaction, live there for a few years and then flip it.

If I were you, I would look a little more deeply into this sale.... like the old saying goes, "if it sounds to good to be true, it is". 100K for a 5BR, 2 bath house in West Babylon? I don't think so. The house is more than likely either in Wyandanch or possibly in need of a total renovation or maybe sinking into the ground or maybe not even owned by the seller.

Be careful. I don't think you're getting the "bargain" you think you're getting.

Kinda curious but ... where is this house if NOT in Wyandanch (or zoned for the Wyandanch School District which is equally as bad)? Smack in the middle of a major highway? On a toxic dump site? I dunno about "flipping it," not so easy these days, especially if it is in the Wyandanch School District because usually people with kids are the ones seeking 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I think it is WAY too cheap and something's wrong. I hope you don't get stuck with a lemon. We are trying to help you avoid getting ripped off.

Similar to the Wyandanch citizenry who "affectionately" refer to Wyandanch as CRIME-danch. Idiots.

It seems to be an endless battle...thanks to the 11704 mailing zipcode. Belmont Elementary School, which fairly sits in the middle of that West Babylon map...has always belonged to North Babylon school district.

...........as is the BOCES school Brennan High School. That is North Babylon in zip code, but really seems like Wyandanch to me.
