Default US open Tickets at Bethpage Black - Types of tickets

Hi Guys,
I need some help regarding purchase of tickets for the US open in June @ Bethpage black. People who have attended the 2002 open please advice... I see a grounds ticket and a Trophy club ticket etc... and I'm kinda confused as to what to buy and how much $$$ will get me what ?

Does the grounds mean you can stay on the course and follow the golfers around (like say Tiger... lol) and does it mean you will get access to the 10 deep crowd around the greens ?
Then what does Trophy Club give you ?
I plan to be there on a Saturday (Moving Day) .... but then I have to hope my favorite players make the cut so I'm torn against Friday or Saturday....

Also, can you guys post some experiences from your last visit.....
Thanks guys... I appreciate it.

BTW.... this is one of the reasons I love Long Island.... so many golf courses.

The grounds ticket will get you access to the course. Yes, you can follow the golfers around as part of the gallery or find a spot to stake out the golfers as they come by. Good luck trying to follow Tiger, his gallery will be huge.

As for the Trophy Club it's a grounds pass plus it gives you access to a "special" food and beverage tent that will be air conditioned. It's similar to a corporate VIP tent, except larger and open to anyone with the pass (also the cost of food/drinks). In 2002 I believe this tent was along the 15th fairway, not sure where it will be this year.

One fun spot is at the 17th which is the par 3 along Round Swamp Rd. If they set up the grandstand as they did in 2002, plus the natural terrain around the hole, it becomes an almost stadium like environment. Very exciting for a golf course.

Awesome, thanks for the valuable information, I don't think I'm going to follow Tiger for the most part (as you said its impossible)..... maybe a couple of holes....
I appreciate your help.

The nice thing about golf tournements is that you can move around as you please. It's fun to follow someone for a few holes and then stake out a spot that you like.
