You have to check the stats...I beg to differ...last time I saw the lists in newsday...herricks didn't even make it on the list...if I recall correctly amongst the 3 given here is the order I would place them in...Manhasset followed by syosset and then roslyn...

All these lists are ridiculous. Attempting to judge an entire district by how well they pushed some seniors? If you wanted a comprehensive picture of a district you'd need a much more complicated formula that took performance in all subgroups into account.
By Regents scores (Sean x4 did a table) Syosset outperforms Manhasset and Roslyn.
I'd say that Herricks is an upper tier district. Beyond that, it's very difficult to say.

Herricks is a top SD and I've seen it on several 'best lists'. It differs from the others in terms of demographics. It's at least 50% Asian and has a reputation of being uber competitive. The other districts mentioned are primarily white. Some people care about those things, others don't, but you should at least have the facts before making a decision.

tomtatti...I couldn't have said it better!!!!
One should at least visit the neighbourhood and talk to people...find out when they have PTA meetings...you'll be surprise what you find out at those meetings...the key to a good district is parents & teachers involvement... forget about Newsday
