Default Beaches on Long Island that you can use a Portable BBQ

I just bought a weber Q (with small propane tank) and want to go to a beach to try it out. (figure it would be nice because of the weather, and if i blow up, at least i dont take my home with me...

Any ideas where I can go with a portable bbq? I am guessing my usual robert moses / jones beach dont allow them? (I dont remember seeing people use them there...although maybe in certain fields they had a area just for that?)

Any help would be great. I live in patchogue, so the closer (and safe) the better...

thanks.

I don't think you can use a grill on any actual beach (meaning the sand) but I know that Sunken Meadow has picnic areas where you can grill. We have a Weber Q but haven't used the portable propane. Works great with a regular tank, I don't think you'l blow up!
