RV Route from Garden State Parkway, NJ to Eastern Long Island (buying, trailer)

Hi - I'm buying a rv/trailer and have to pick it up later this week in South New Jersey. I'm taking it back to the East End and know that there are many roads in Long Island in which you can't take a travel trailer. Would anybody know the best route for me to get from the Garden State Parkway in south jersey through NY and out to the LIE? Once I'm on the LIE eastbound I'm fine but don't know enough about the highways/parkways near the city to know which I can travel on safely.

My RV is less than 10 ft high.

To be safe, travel ONLY on Expressways as commercial traffic is not allowed on parkways. That said, I'd take the GSP north to route 440 to the Outerbridge Crossing. Get off 440 at the Staten Island Expressway wich takes you to the Verrazano Bridge. From there take the Gowanus Expressway to the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. That will lead you to the LIE. Uh, I moved here from the Jersey Shore. Be aware that you must bail off the Garden State Parkway- I think it's at exit 105. No trailers/commercial allowed. From there, just follow 36N to 35 N until you hit a traffic circle. Take the bridge for Rt 9 there, and follow signs for 440 N / Outerbridge.
