That would be the Hamlet of East Farmingdale ("Farmingdale, NY 11735" mailing address) in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County.
While the Village of Farmingdale is in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, the majority of the area of the "Farmingdale, NY 11735" postal zone is in the Town of Babylon, Suffolk County.

The good: Croxley's Ale House & The Library Cafe. Lots of scantily clad women roaming the streets of the village in the summertime and on weekends. The village. Nearby train.
The bad: everything else.

You might need to slow down on your drinking. If you think the bad is "everything else", you're probably not seeing things very clearly after a night at Croxley's and The Library. The Barley Wine will get you every time.

East Famingdale is largely commercial-industrial. East Farmingdale north of Conklin Street is zoned to HHH schools, which is an excellent district. You pay more for houses here than in Farmingdale SD, but less than a house with a Melville address.

I believe the taxes may be a little less though (compared to houses in Nassau with a Farmingdale address)
Houses off Melville Road that are in Suffolk give you sort of a best of both worlds - the proximity to the Village of Farmingdale while being in the HHH school district (and not paying Dix Hills prices)

And, the majority of the population of the "Farmingdale, NY 11735" ZIP Code postal zone that is in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County is in the Hamlet of South Farmingdale (15,121), whose population is more than two-thirds larger than the population in the Village of Farmingdale (8,744) per the January 2007 LIPA population estimate.

I graduated in 2002, although I've heard the HS has become worse over time since I've been there in terms of crime and drug use, I enjoyed my time in Farmingdale schools. I still live in the area and I like taking strolls down main st in town or going to the local bars as well.
