Smile Need Infor on Middle Country School District

Hi! My husband and I will be moving to Middle Country school district over the summer. We have 2 children one is 11 and one is 8 My 11 year old is a special needs child. I am trying to get as much info on the school district as possible. I was told she would be attending Dawnwood MS or Selden MS. It is very important to get as much info on either of the schools as far as special ed is concerened. Our daughter will be in a self contained class. I was told my son will attend oxhead rd. elementary. He is main stream class but any info on the elementary would be helpful as well. Thank you to everyone for input.

Hi,

Below is the data from the New York State Report Cards. Please read test scores with a grain of salt. Hopefully someone with firsthand knowledge can post more information:

In my own opinion oxhead rd is not the safest area but getting better.I think the district is average but for special needs i'm not sure.Longwood which is in middle island wasn't great. In generalI think the NJ schools and western,ny are far superior and much more beneficial especially if autism is the affliction.
