People are way more cultured here than other parts of the country. I've traveled all over.

LI's culture is that is has no definitive culture. Other than rudeness that is.
Basically, it's a free-for-all.
It's way too diverse and expansive to have it's own culture.
Look up melting pot in the dictionary and there should be a picture of LI, ha!

Actually they are self centered and selfish. Matter of fact those who reside in places

like Garden City typed towns are really full of wind, very biased, very uncultured with a Long Island accent at that.! Many have the money and big homes in these particular towns but behind closed doors are big issues. They pretend they are something special just because of the money...Money does not equal charactor. Anyway, This is what most of them measure their lives and substance on. Money. It gives them the power to think they are better then you as uncultured as they are...

Don't leave...we need change....Change comes when somebody is willing not to conform to the status quo.

Personally, I don’t care what ‘they’ own or what ‘they' do or whatever those people stand for. I would stick with your own circle of friends, don’t loose sight of your values and pursue your god given right of happiness. I wouldn’t let them bring you down since they would eventually take themselves down.
