I loved this roller rink and have many fond memories (and pictures) from my grade school parties (in the 80's). I loved getting the red slushies and playing video games. And then they had that game where you would skate (most likely to the song "Don't you want me baby", lol) and when the music stopped you had to skate to one of the numbers hanging from the ceiling. The best was when we'd get in a line to do the hokey pokey and half of the skaters would fall on their a$$es because it was difficult to do on skates. And then there was couples skating...we'd all skate with our BFF's. HAHAHA. Good times.

yep, i remember all those things they used to do during the parties
My favorite quirk about the Bay Shore Roller Rink was how the organist would play breaking up is hard to do during "couples only" skate. Anybody else remember when they just had an organ or am I the only geezer here?
I just past in a couple of days ago it use to be the it spot when i was a kid i dont know what they are putting there but i will not forget the memories
