Experience with Lynbrook Village Court re Speeding Tickets?
Someone I know got a speeding ticket for going 53 mph in a 30 mph zone. It was on Peninsula Blvd. The speed limit changed from 40 to 30 just after a traffic light that he says he was trying to get through. He is concerned because he has some points on his license from Florida and recently got a ticket in Tennessee. I know Florida and NY reciprocate department of motor vehicles' information. I don't know about Tennessee.
I know that many village courts will play "let's make a deal" with people and lower the charges to something they can get a fine in but not get points on their license. I don't have any experience with Lynbrook though.
He is wondering if he needs to hire a lawyer. If anybody has any experience, ideas, or information, it would be helpful. TIA!
