I have gotten bad breakfast sandwiches on LI. I do bacon scrambled egg and cheese with salt pepper ketchup. I've had bacon so crispy you could barely bite into into, greasy undercooked bacon, eggs that and barely cooked through, etc.
Out east my favorite place used to be Bagel Palace in Center Moriches, but everything there has been horrible lately.

The difference between a good sandwich and bad one is the quality of the ingredients and how they are cooked. For example, a bad sandwich would have fatty, undercooked bacon. The roll is very important as well.

Family Deli is on the corner of Locust Ave. and Church St.
Have a bacon, egg and cheese for me! My egg sandwich has been replaced by breakfast tacos here in Austin (which are pretty good in their own right).

Best egg sandwich? I've been to about 100 different delis over the years, and pretty much 90of them were all the same..good.

Yeah, I meant to mention that the deli is in an old house, apparently.

My nominee's...
I love all variations of egg sandwiches made at Beck's deli in Wantagh, I'm partial since I've been going there for 20+ years (just wish I didn't move so far away since now I only get to enjoy them a few times a year).
Also, Erik's Cafe in Southold, they have a sandwich called "Erik's awesome egg sandwich" which is delicious.
Lastly, the bagel shop in the Home Goods shopping center in Port Jeff Station makes a really good egg sandwich. Their bagels are superb (some of the best I've had on LI) which adds to the enjoyment; my only gripe is their bacon is a bit too thick and tough at times, I steer clear and go for sausage or ham.
