John W Engeman theater
in Northport...
Looking to take the better half here but wanted some input on how the theater is. Is it nice? Worth going to? Been to the Gateway Playhouse and I consider that a nice place to go and would go back. Just wanted to see if it was worth spending money on.
Looked at the seating chart. Seems to me that rows D-M would be the best ones. Can anyone comment on this as well?
Thanks.

Reason: Adding location, oops, and adding good seat rows

It is a drop dead gorgeous theater and a great place to go. I have been to several shows there and the productions were all excellent. Make sure to go early or stay late so that you can enjoy the piano bar.

My parents went to a show there and said it was great. The actors are all equity actors and some have been on Broadway and off-B'way. The town is great for a stroll and dinner before/after the show.

Thanks for the info. Is there adequate parking? I looked on the satellite image and it doesn't seem like it.

There is valet parking or you can park in one of the Northport municipal lots (they are close by).

The lots do fill quickly, but you can always find parking somewhere. The village is very small and very walkable.

definitely a nice place. you know what sucked though? i'm a veteran still in service, and they have this massive painting dedicated to Engeman, who died in Iraq. when i asked if they had, by any chance, a military discount (because it is a bit expensive there), they said no, they never thought about it before.

Now that is one of the times they deserve to be smacked in the head like this --->
