I saw a deer in Old Westbury about 2 months ago. It must have had to cross two or three major roads to get where it was when I saw it, just off of exit 39 on the L.I.E. Bizarre.

I get the occasional owl too.

I wasn't thinking Connetquot~maybe it came from there.

I'm amazed the deer are in Nassau County too!

None near me. Hope it stays that way. Don't need the deer ticks they bring with the lyme disease. I know two people who don't even live in Suffolk who got lyme disease out there.

gosh we have deer that come and eat the grass clippings in our backyard(border of medford/yaphank). We also have wild turkeys there.

Last year a fox was killed by a car in the development.

I had no idea deer roam around neighborhoods on Long Island. Thought they were exclusive to the parks and beaches.

My grandparents have been out in Aquebogue for over twenty years and last fall, they had four in their backyard. I mention this, not because deer are not common in Suffolk, but because he had so many in his yard in the middle of the afternoon.....and his yard is completely fenced in. I went out back and one by one, all four jumped a four foot high fence into the next yard and dashed down the street and into the woods.

I kind of like the idea of this wildlife being around and wish it was more common. By the way, Owls are awesome and its cool that some of you have them around. Those are a bit rare in these parts.

I lived in Smithtown and never saw a deer, and we had woods behind our property too.
