If you run sunrise during the rut between 58 and 50 your chances of hitting one are really good... I have watched people hit them as they come running across right out from the trees...
People not aware of rut season or to watch everything when driving are at a big risk...

Had one jump out of a neighbors back yard on canal rd and right in front of my jeep and slide up the hood and poke his antlers thru the windshield....

Gotta love deer...now i only hunt them on L.I.

This is what happens when the Deer's habitat is razed to build McMansions. They are pushed into smaller and smaller areas, making human contact more common.
The same thing happened upstate with the bears. But dont blame the wildlife, blame the ppl who destroyed their home.

This is what happens when the enviros prevent deer hunts and there are no natural predators present to thin the growing deer population.

Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding... We have a winner....

Everything has a natural predator to keep it from wildly over populating...

Who told you that bs lie....

I happen to be a resident of upstate NY for over 40 yrs...not including my families time there 5 times longer..

The issue with the Bear is..Bears are lazy...why hunt when people throw out food...
So they hunt the neighborhood/town garbage cans.. that has been going on for years and years.. Many places actually like seeing the Bears..
1 restaurant upstate in Pine Hill uses it as a attraction

Well I agree with the 2nd half of that sentence. Unfortunately natural predators such as Wolves have been hunted to the point of extinction on LI.
I dont think LI has any wolves, and foxes are rare.
I think there also used to Coyotes here too, but they too were killed off.

I've seen red fox twice in the Port Washington area.

The first sighting was near North Hempstead Country Club in Flower Hill and the second was in the woods behind Guggenheim Elementary in Sands Point.

Haven't seen any deer yet.

I saw an elephant driving a Camry on Sunrise Hwy just the other day.
Could have been a fat lady in a grey shirt...not sure.
