looking at a similar house in each area..any input, pros/cons.....we were concerned about westbury's school district in sherwood gardens...not that baldwins seems that great either...baldwin harbor seems more family orienatated, nice small town feel
tax's are the same...
westbury seems to have, hold a little better property value.
I live next door in Birchwood Knolls. I know both areas very well. Baldwin Harbor is nice if you prefer to live near the water. All the areas in northern westbury are very stable in terms of demographics and socio-economics. You will find larger lots in Sherwood vs Baldwin HArbor. I believe homes here are upkept more consistently than in Baldwin...additionally Sherwood also borders more affluent areas (Old Westbury/Jericho) which affords a more suburban upscale feel. Athough the Harbor is south, Baldwin borders Roosevelt/Freeport/Hempstead. Ultimately, both areas are nice, but my vote would be for Sherwood!
thanks, for clarifying some of my assumptions. the biggest thing for me is location, as westbury is easier to get to, and commute to the city. westbury- lie, northern state, wantagh baldwin harbor- far local driving from southern state. all though i believe baldwin harbor might have better lirr service on the babylon branch, im not familiar with westbury's baldwin is like 40 minutes to penn
