Looking at 2 car wrecks taking up almost an entire front yard is against environmental codes in the Town of Huntington. These non-running cars were an eyesore - our neighbor's place looked like it was in competition for being the next Town Dump.
The house was rented out at the time - tenants (a fond subject of mine) were living there and did whatever they wanted. The landlord did nothing about them and their junk in the yard, besides the car, and their kids ran through the neighborhood causing all kinds of problems all over. Typical. The tenants were from HI where they explained they could dump their junk all over their yard and no one cared. But that was in HI where properties can be spread over acres. This was in a different state, a different town with ordinances against letting a neighborhood look rundown.
My best advice to you Attacker 1, oops, I mean Fighter 1, is for you to live in an uncontrolled area regarding eyesores; that way you will be able to park your RV, your 120-ft. yacht, dump all your broken appliances, throw old tires, etc., on your front lawn. And don't forget to enjoy you other neighbors' crap on their front

The OP stated "ONE" boat , in you're situatioin you mention a bunch of Sh*** and crap, again thats apples and oranges , totally differant situation. go back and re read the OP first post and you will see i am stating fact , if the boat is registeredthen he has a right to park it on his property. Fighter 1 embraces the Constitution, yet thumbs his nose at local laws. Check out his post re: Public Urination on the San Bernadino page.

Need to check it out and know what you are talking about. In the case you referanced I am not thumbing my nose at local Laws there are constitutional rights in that matter and they are stated in Every "Notice to Appear" issued in the state of California, c.p.c.853.9. How it standing on your rights to be considered thumbing you nose at the laws ? Nor am i thumbing my nose at the local laws in this case . No where has it been stated that there is a law against this person having his boat ( property ) along side his house . only that it bothers the neighbor , she hasen't taken the time to check with the city or county.

And yet I ask again, your post has been helpful to the OP how?
Pointing out the obvious isn't helping, and sometimes people do appreciate learning from another's experience.
Look at this post from another thread -- it basically outlines how one very peaceful residential neighborhood has been picked away at by new homeowners who've decided to relocate their businesses into their yards. You might state that it's their constitutional right to break local law, but what about the citizens who live within the confines of the law and whose QOL is adversely impacted by the law breakers?

WOW ! HOLD ON THERE ! where in the op's 1st post did i miss anything about "ALL THE JUNK " i do believe she only spoke of the "ONE" boat that she took exception to . and she admitts that she doesn't know if it was legal or not ! so why hasen't she talked to the city FIRST. Yep I just checked and it is 1 boatthat is getting to her. and also I have to ask again LuvLI why haven't you contacted the town before asking all of us here what we think ,then getting mad when we give you that advice when the town is the one that can answer your question with one Call ! and resolve all your problems. maybe not to your likings but they can answer the question better then all of us here.

again that's apples and oranges , she states nothing about him conducting a business, nothing about tons of junk so how would someones experance with that type of neighbor ,this guy just parked his boat at his house , on his property , and it is possiably registered legally she doesn't state that fact. the problem here is with her not with him or his boat. SORRY but that the way it is like it or not.

A boat belongs in the water or in proper storage. If it is used often during the season, I have no issue with it back in the sideyard. As I understand it, he OP has an issue because the boat is more of a permanent fixture and seldom if ever used.
One thing I don't recall reading (please let me know if I missed it) is how big is this boat? Are we talking some small runabout or a 30' cabin cruiser? Also -- is it some ratty boat which has seen better days, or a properly maintained vessel?
No, the comparison to a residential neighborhood being taken over by home-based commercial enterprises, which in turn park one or two commercial vehicles in the yard isn't apples and oranges. We're discussing aesthetics, property values and one neighbor's consideration of their other neighbors.
We all have to live together. Having consideration for one's neighbors goes an awful long way.
