how much do you pay to LIPA?
Hi Every one,
Just curious how much your LIPA monthly bill is? I can't believe that I pay $200 every month! We leave around 9 AM; we come home around 7 PM, not sure why my electricity bill is so high?
It's so hard to live in Long Island, every penny I make, some companies wants to take it. :-)
Any way, let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Prior to installing the electric HW heater - $110 a month
After installing electric HW heater - $210 a month
Worst mistake I ever made.
1800 sq ft cape...propane stove, electric dryer, 2 window AC's (hardly used)
Biggest HW use is laundry (we cloth diaper our kids)

$231/month
Outdoor hot tub. It probably costs $75/month for that alone.

In 2009: January $115, February $120, March $145, April $92 (this one was an estimated, not an actual), May $236 (obviously making up for the low estimated one).
So the average seems to be somewhere around $130 month I would guess.
Oil heat, electric appliances, only two people (retired but who always shut lights off when not in use!). No swimming pool, no hot tub, no wine cooler, no extra refrigerators, no electric heaters (all of those big energy hogs!). Central air is only used when weather is oppressively hot/humid. House is probably about 3500 square feet, give or take a bit (we don't own it, just house-sitting for an absent relative since early 2008, so we do pay the utility bills ourselves).

About $130 a month for electric heat, a/c and electricity (budget plan) in a relatively small townhouse .

I'm currently paying $200 a month on balanced billing. Probably the biggest consumption comes from my central air unit, electric dryer, and the pool filter in the summer.

$115 per month on balanced billing. 1365 sq foot cape. Two window units that we try not to use. Gas dryer and range. Family of three. DH and I work outside of the home. Computers on all of the time.

At least 250 a month. In summer when using central air - more like 450. This is for an average sized ranch. We have gas hot water and gas dryer but we also have a dehumidifier in the basement, 4 tv's, and 3 computers. We have replaced all our lightbulbs with the fluorescent type. We keep our thermostat on 76-77 in the summer but it gets kind of hot at that setting. If we didn't do that though, our summer bills would be even bigger!
