Given that there are lots of both Ashkenazi Jews and Italian Catholics living in Matza-Pizza, are there any Italian Jews, Jews who trace their ancestry to Italy and who speak Italian, not Yiddish nor Ladino, living there, as well?

I dont think thier is such a thing. Italy's religion is catholic and I have never met an italian who is jewish but my friend was jewish and married an italian girl but he converted to catholic, not by his wife's choic, but his own.

We just went into contract on a house in Massapequa. We have some friends in Babylon Village and they love the village, the schools, proximity to the water, etc., but one thing thing that kept us away was the congestion through the village. On top of that, my wife is from Massapequa and has a lot of family there, and she felt strongly about living there, so we are on our way...fingers crossed that mortgage rates come down more!!! I think you can't go wrong in either place, as long as you are happy there.

Ever wonder where the Roman nose came from or how some Romans have red hair?
And, did you ever hear of the "Garden of the Finzi-Continis", the book or the movie?
According to Italian Resources for Jewish Genealogy, Italy contains some of the oldest Jewish Communities in Europe. The first Jewish immigration occurred during the Maccabean period (167 to 63 BCE) when Jews arrived in Italy as both slaves and merchants.

Might be a few, but I don't think you would find a full blooded Italian in Massapequa that is Jewish (other than perhaps a convert here or there). You may have some people in Massapequa that have some heritage that is Italian (mixed Italian-Jewish marriage) but I would say the overwelming kids that came from a mixed Italian-Jewish marriage, celebrate the Holidays of both and are largely Secular.

some were forced to covert, thats why you dont see or hear of jewish people orginating in italy.
but it doesnt matter, being jewish is just a relgion, a belief like all religions. you cut up a catholic and a jewish person and you cant tell one from the other.
