If you went to the local high school in the same areas as those "gifted and talented" specialty schools, they'd be scraping the bottom of the rankings.
In short, if a person has a shred of objectivity, they would be unable to use that list to support the absurd notion that Bellport high school is on par with Three Village. But, I'm sure some people will try to use that list to support just that notion.

Oh I agree. It's not like a NYC HS that only allows the top 10% in should be considered a good school.
Like I said, the point would be lost on most. Not surprising.

Who said it shouldn't be considered a good school? It's just inaccurate, or in some cases, disingenuous, to compare selective enrollment schools to open enrollment. If you started a selective admission school in Suffolk County and took the top 5% of all students from all districts, that school would be in the top 10 nationwide without breaking a sweat. Unless your kids is in that top 5%, it doesn't make their school experience one iota better.
But, you have an agenda, so you can continue to bring up the list and insinuate whatever you think this list is indicative of. No one with any sense will buy it, but you can do whatever you want.

Ah yes, Bellport is still a low performing school district, by any measure. Your attempts to make other LI districts seem relatively as low performing, based on the Newsweek list, failed...horribly. Try another angle.
