Amityville with copaigue school - Does that make a difference?
I saw this house in Amityville with copaigue school. The house is just above sunrisehighway 27 and is about 6 - 10 minutes to the Copaigue train station. Any one has any comments because this house is copaigue school? I've heard amityville is bad , but are there any positives?
thanks

Is this house in the Village of Amityville or is it in the Hamlet of Copiague ("Amityville, NY 11701" mailing address)?
You can find out in which community (city, village or CDP) that house is actually located, which is oftentimes different from the community named in that house's mailing address, by using the Census Bureau's online address search function. (CDP or Census Designated Place is the Census Bureau equivalent for a hamlet in Nassau and Suffolk Counties.)
And, very importantly, among other things, the Census Bureau's online address search function also indicates in which school district an address is located.

Copiague south of Merrick road is a nice area. Just like Amityville. North of Merrick Rd is still decent. North of Sunrise isnt so good.
The Copiague SD is not good either. Gangs and young girls getting pregnant. MS13 is very big in Copiague SD.
Eastern District of New York
Copiague
Anyone I have known who lived in Copiague went to private school.
Steer way clear of Copiague SD.

I live in Lindy near the border of Copaigue. I wouldn't buy N of Sunrise in Lindy, Copaigue or Amityville. I wouldn't consider it dangerous, just not so nice. If you have kids attending HS, it makes it even worse.
You are the judge though, it might still be better than where you are moving from! In Copaigue, take a drive down Great Neck Road at various times of the day. This seems to be where a lot of the crime activity takes place.

I hear you but to be honest I do not think North Lindenhurst is quite in the same boat as northern Copiague or North Amityville. I was also under the impression that the Lindenhurst school district was generally better?

I am guessing it is somewhere near the intersection of Great Neck Road and Bethpage Road? It looks ok right by the small park but I do not like the fact there are way too many of the SAME EXACT small ranch houses --- especially as you go further up Great Neck Rd. Its nice that they are building some new & larger homes in parts of North Amtyville now because the neighborhood needs a spark to jumpstart fixing up the area. Too bad they are cutting down the last of the Pine Barrens in the area, however.

Thank you for this message. I'm learning how to use it - a little unfamiliar since lI villages/towns/hamlet is a bit confusing to me.
