Hey, a lot of locals post rooms to rent in the local newspapers. Check out the classifieds for the local newspapers online, such as the East Hampton Star, Southampton Press, and East Hampton Independent. Aside from the papers, many place ads in the local grocery stores, post offices, etc. You can also check out craigslist.org and click on the Long Island section of New York City.

Many people come out in the summer to work, especially from Ireland. I've met a lot who stayed in the small motels/cottages of Montauk and worked in the restaurants and stores. The sooner you can secure a job and a place to live, the better your summer. Good luck and enjoy the beautiful east end of Long Island this summer!
