I wouldn't call any streets out here mean...
Claiming one area is different then another out here is silly in my eyes from what i see.. Every area has the same problems, some are more easily seen, some might have more of a illegal issue while others have more graffiti, or drugs... but they all have it, none of them have a wall seperating them from the problem 2000' east, west, north or south ... or police routinely patroling....

In keeping it all honest...i'm sad to report there were about 5 robberies Wed night. We someone walking on our deck at about 4am..my wife heard them trying to open the gate. They took off when the dog barked. Our neighbors on both sides had their cars broken into...and at least 3 other cars up the street had stuff taken from them. SCPD was good...i've seen more cars around today despite the holiday weekend.

When my vehicles were violated i had a clean and clear as day total hand print on my door where the sloppy thief pushed it closed, along with a clear boot print in the dirt...
SCPD gave me a report so i could make a claim.....awesome, i want his address, so i can violate him
They could have taken a picture of the print and possibly found this thief without doing any other work....
Instead i got explained that this is a petty offense and not really worth it.....
Well how is it that the owner of a shop that used to be on TV was able to get his garbage dusted for prints and they didn't nearly get away with as much in monetary value. I guess i need to get my business on TV so i can be treated fairly....

We had some kids steal some cars too and go joyriding/offroad in RP
Came to find out the owners left the keys in the car.
Theres stupid kid drama everywhere in Brookhaven.
Petty larceny, graffiti, weed drugs etc.
Cope does a great job but people are stupid... they leave GPS systems and Ipods and crap in their car and are pissed when theyre stolen.
Ill tell you this much we got a firerce neighborhood watch over here (from what I hear Sound Beach too)and our own brand of local justice.
People keep an eye on each others property.
Things usually work themselves out.
Bottom line...desperate people do desperate things.
It all comes down to how desperate your town is.
Ill leave it at that.

See now i totally disagree with that remark right there...
Why should i or anyone else have to re-arrange there life because other people are scum.
Why are they the stupid people because some idiot stole there stuff....
The stupid people are the POS doing it and others that might have seen it and say nothing, or do nothing.
That's like saying crookhaven is stupid for having that tv in his house and car in his driveway, he's stupid for having it, if he didn't it wouldn't have been stolen...
I can't wait to hear what's next...
Paint your windows black maybe... have a pos car...? ? ?

I dont, I'm in a pretty good spot, but (getting back to OP)I would definitely rearrange my life if I lived in Mastic.
Like I said...desperate people do desperate things ...and kids will be kids.
I dont condone it...but I do acknowledge it.
I am fully aware that Im only 60 miles from the NYC.
