Shoreham Planning Nuclear Plant’s Land Future?
Any idea what the plans are for this site? I am looking seriously at Rocky Point, and upon telling my mother about this she mentioned she read that they were thinking about turning that facility to a low emision coal buring plant? Low Emmisions is not good enough for me...
Does anyone have any info on this?

Not true at all.
It will not be used for any type of energy application.
What I have heard is a few things
High Speed Ferry Terminal/Hotel/Catering Hall or a slim chance of a Casino.
Welcome to Rocky Point.
Excellent choice, you'll love it here.
Feel free to PM me with questions.

They should finish building it. We need nuke power. If they want, they can build one in my yard.

Only a fool would advocate for nukes in a giant cul de sac.
Get me a bridge or 3 and we can put your yard on the shortlist for locations .
Nonetheless it aint ever happening in Shoreham.
The town is way too wealthy, powerful and politically connected for anything too evil to come in.
(Home to County Legislator, State Assemblyman and until recently Town Councilman....Shes now in Rocky Point)
My guess is it will be a high end catering hall.

I think they should turn it into a cool catering, lodging, eco-tourism based complex maintaining the existing structure & I think they should add about 200 more wind turbines to the property.

You cant put all the blame on LIPA. Nobody wants a plant anywhere near thier house, yet they want cheaper EL. While i am kidding about putting a power plant in my yard, if it was in a reasonable location, i wouldnt b%tch.

Im not blaming LIPA at all. What do people expect them to do? They tried to build a plant to create electric at a cheaper rate and people went ape sh*t over it. They looked into wind farms and people went ape sh*t over it..they cant win. So I wish the people(I used to be one of them) would just stop complaining about the rates. They are out of options.
