Could anyone tell me about the neighborhood around Park Ave. and Dix Hills Rd.? We are looking this area for our first home, but not sure about the neighborhood either. Thanks a lot for any input!

I'm still in my starter house, 15 years later. Will be leaving next Spring for greener pastures.

Don't go for Huntington Station.
You can get a house in Huntington with South Huntington school district- anything west of Oakwood Road.
Huntington is infinitely better than Huntington Station.
There are better school districts than S. Huntington but if you have bright kids- they'll do alright for themselves.
I did better college-wise than a lot of my peers who went to 'better high schools'.

Might you be referring to the part of the Hamlet of West Hills that has a "Huntington, NY 11743" mailing address?
