coram (Westfield, Howard, Accord: real estate, sex offender, crime)

Does anyone have any information about the neighborhood behind the Plaza 99 shopping center..... For instance crime, neighbors, etc.... any information would be appreciated..... thanks

If you're talking about the area consisting of Teele and Howard,the area is nice but the crime is SLIGHTLY higher then the better areas like north coram but less then the gordon heights areas. The people are nice and if you drive there on the weekends during a normal hour (noon-2pm) you'll have a better idea.

I posted before but I had the wrong plaza. The one he is referring to has a pancake cottage (according to a real estate picture I found). But I don't recall that place. According to the map, its between Mt. Sinai-Coram Road and Westfield Road.

The area I was wondering about was the Plaza 99 center that has the Pancake cottage and is by teele, howard, and Rowe. Thank you for your information

the pancake cottage has been closed for years & there is nothing good going on over there. Not my favorite part of Coram at all. Get north of 83.

That I know. The map stuck it in the middle of those two roads and I couldn't recall the pancake cottage. The picture I saw made it look like it was open and all nice and clean and thriving. I wasn't aware that it closed down.

I'm not too familiar with the houses around there, though I have been told by family that it is not such a hot area.

Definitely what the other poster said, north of 83 is better.

Just looking at the sex offender registry, there a 3 with crimes against children between Mt. Sinai-Coram rd and Westfield.

Whats even more disturbing is that in another area of LI one was around the corner from a school. Can't remember which town but that was scary.

Unfortunately the owners young daughter died about 2 years ago and after that he just let the place go.Definitely a shame.My suggestion would be to check by Wedgewood Drive and all the nearby cross streets.It's by the pine shopping center.The only thing is that the area breaks up into 3 different school districts (longwood,middle country,and comsewogue).
