Can someone explain to me why we don't have a Super Walmart?

I think the reason for no Super Wal-Mart on Long Island. Is a lack of open space and a bad reputation. Wal-Mart has one of the worst reputations of any retailer. I know they wanted to build a mall their at one point. However, I believe that deal fell through. The only information I found about that area was from wikipedia about lawmakers trying to get the Syosset Train Station moved to that area. It would be interesting to see if Wal-Mart can throw themselves into that conversation.

again, the reason why there wont be a super walmart on long island is because the supermarket unions are too strong and are afraid they will lose jobs.
