My Dad lives in Flushing and says there is no good pizza in that part of Queens. he gave up on eating pizza. I remember Toto's Pizza, located around the corner from grandmother's house in Borough Park on MacDonald Avenue & Avenue I. Now that was good pizza. I think it closed down back in the 80s, however.

Does anyone remember Carlos' Pizza Oven in the former Inter-County Shopping Center in East Massapequa? Gosh, that was good pizza. The last time I had really good pizza was when I visited my grandmother in Victory Memorial Hospital in Bay Ridge. There was a little whole-in the wall pizza place, I think called Vinny's. What great pizza.

Can't say I have found great pizza here in Austin but some if it is decent. Yes, food on LI is better, no doubt, except for Texas BBQ.

I don't really know much about the kosher laws other than certain foods cannot be mixed with or touch certain others.

Torah observant Jews are prohibited by Commandment from eating pork, among other prohibited foods or food combinations that are prohibited, with one exception: in order to save a life, Gentile, Pagan or Jew, a Torah observant Jew would be required to eat pork if that was the only food available.

All but 3 of the 613 Commandments, binding on those at Sinai and their descendants and those who through conversion voluntarily accept these Commandments, can be violated to save a life. The 3 inviolate, or, pardon the expression, Cardinal Commandments, are the prohibition against murder, the prohibition against adultery/incest and the prohibition against idolatry.
