Ive seen sharks right at the end of my block at florence beach, and that a bay beach, not an ocean. theyre around.

Did anyone see the article on newsday.com? (I don't get the paper so I use the wesbite). It showed a picture of 3 girls actually touching the thing! I agree with the OP, if I see a shark, I'm outta there!

The basking shark and whale shark are harmless, even though they are huge.

Theres plenty of animals that average person doesnt see in long island waters. I see seals all the time in the bay.
